There are times when I think I am young, forgetting that 84 years have passed since I first took a breath of life.
After over 30 years as clergy person I am upset that Christinaity has become more divided and attempts at unity seem futile.
To me, 'Truth' comes by telling and sharing our story and by listening to other's life stories.Trying to get to know others and oneself are flip sides of the same coin.
My journey to sanity was a mysterious, grace-filled series of events and did not happen quickly. The years I spent behind walls: physically, emotionally, mentally have helped me see some truth 'out here' in the 'real' world.
I want to let people who suffer from mental and emotional illness --- know there is light at the end of the tunnel. Regardless of how the world ignores and is frightened by the unseen diseases --- mentally ill people do get better.
My wife and my children have endured a lot as I try to grow up. As a family we do know that we love one another. We are 'not' the 'Brady Bunch' but we are connected and we are real.
I believe people are bascially good, we simply get twisted, lost and we really do need one another.
